Continuing on from an nasty attack of bandits, the party are healing themselves, when they are joined by a young adventurer from Tharbad called Rewk. He seems a handy chap with a sword, which is just as well as very soon a party of Easterling mercenaries shows up, intent on a bit of theft. In the ensuing fight, Swampy manages to put a horse to sleep, and Mandrake the Marvellous does some "horse whispering". Don't ask, needless to say this episode caused untold hilarity. Travelling on eastwards, the party fetch up near a Dunadan estate, where the are invited in for dinner, and offered the job of rescuing the daughter of the landowner from the Daen Iontis priests at the Temple of Justice. They are supplied with an escort to help them, and they set off.

Previous Post!
The gang get involved in chasing down an extortion ring, which they track to a rickety warehouse on the docks.Swampy does some spellcasting to enhance his sneakability, but this adds little to the proceedings. they decide to break in via the main door, but Swampy decides to lurk at the rear, so he doesn't fall through the trapdoor that the baddies actuate. Little damage is done , but Ygor, Brandor and Mandrake are in the river for a while. Thus encouraged the baddies spot Swampy doing his trademark "tactical withdrawal", and chase him into the pub across the street. No problem says he, as he prepares to cast "deer speed". but preparing it slows him down..... Naturally , he gets caught, just as the spell is cast, so all that happens is that he is unconsious, but faster. The rest of the team appear, covered in slime from the river, and start slaughtering the gang. unbeknownst to then, there is another gang member who arrives with a crossbow, and Mandrake is only saved because a barman gets in the way of the bolt. Job done.
After recuperating , they set off out of the south gate, passing along the southern fringe of the Nin in Eilph , and camp for the night. 2 days of city living have softened them up, and Brandor fails to hear a party of bandits creeping up on them. things go horribly wrong, as first Mandrake goes down (quelle surprise!), and then Ygor gets 2 E class criticals on him and is out of it with 7 rounds of stun. Swampy does manfully, actually killing something, before he takes a horrible series of hits and is "killed". Brandor saves the day, and at the end is the only one on his feet. They use the precious lifekeeping herb on Swampy, then dose him with stuff to replace his concussion hits.
Ygor advances to 3rd level.

Travelling by night, the party are just about to leave their convenient wood, when a large contingent of Dunlendings arrive and sets up camp. These dudes have a herd of cattle with them and this suggest that may be adherents of the Daen Iontis cult, on the way to the Temple of Justice as well. A chance spark causes a grass fire and the gang take advantage of this to send Mandrake to stampede the cattle . (Swampy having refused to undertake the mission as he is "too scared"). To everyone's surprise Mandrake makes it in undetected, but then drops a log on his foot.Despite this he escapes unscathed. They ride off leaving a huge amount of chaos.
Arriving at the Temple of Justice, they lie up during the day to observe .
A plan is made when the Dunlendings arrive and make camp. Palomire's men will create a diversion, while the gang climb in a door they have spotted under one of the ears of the Bull temple.
Amazingly, this all goes to plan, and they only have to deal with 2 guards, as the rest are diverted by the diversion.Mandrake manages to unlock a door with a spell, and nobody falls off the temple.
Palomire is overjoyed to get his daughter back, and they are given their 6000GP

There is a huge banquet, and it is late the following morning before they depart Palomire's estate. The ever alert Mandrake (!) spots a rider watching them, however the spy disappears behind a hill. They make camp for the night in a grout of abandoned buildings, where they are attacked just before dawn by some Dunlendings and an acolyte from the Temple of Justice. Swampy gets hit by a javelin, but the rest are holding their own, when........

... the sun comes up, revealing a large column of Dunlendings in the distance. Time is pressing- Brandor and Rewk set about the baddies at ground level and hack their way through them, Brandor getting his spear stuck in a body at one point. On the roof, things are not going to plan- Ygor, Swampy and Mandrake get off a volley of crossbow and bow fire which deals with the Acolyte who is casting spells, however the return volley of javelins stuns Mandrake, grazes Ygor, and sticks in Swampy's jugular. Lucky for him that he is not stunned, and is able to magic the wound shut (otherwise it was a "dies in 12 turns from blood loss"). Eventually the attackers (from clan Roth) are driven off, and the gane escape on horseback, eventually arriving at Larach Dhunnain. there they seek out a herbalist, and spend a fortune on lifegiving herbs........

Alarca, a Silvan Elf Scout, will be joining the party - if I can finish rolling him up. I've flipped through the book so many times looking for tables that the cover's fallen off...!

Mine was genuinely random... can't speak for Ken. I'd rather go an Orc lol I'm going to reroll my race since Ken stole my Silvan Elf Ranger...

Mine was random too - I was expecting a hobbit! My dice were rolling weirdly that night - I had to reroll about 4 of my stats because they were under 20!

To be honest, I was about the same, kept rolling under 20 for a few.
