I think it's time that the USS Colossus boldly went again! However, I don't think that the system worked very well, so a revamp is in order. I'm thinking that WHFRP is the best basis- along the lines of the Biggles mods. I'll need to work on some now profiles, as well as new skills.
As to races-I think the elf scheme kind of fits Vulcans- ides welcome
Current profiles- Red shirt- Engineering and combat Blue Shirt- Science Yellow Shirt- Command and navigation

Would that make dwarves Klingons?
Sounds like an idea - we haven't done much roleplaying this year. Would we generate new characters, or convert our existing ones (assuming you've still got the character sheets)?

I haven't thought about Klingons..... I refer the honourable member to the lengthy Rolemaster campaign that I ran.....
It's easier to create new characters with the same names and roles. To that end, I'll create new advance schemes and skills . Advance schemes will be grouped ie.
Red Shirt Combat specialist Engineering Specialist Recce Specialist
Blue Shirt Medical Science Comms
Yellow Shirt Command Helm Weapons Sensors

Pilot Episode, continued again.
Vakov is attacked by a flying snake while doing his repairs, but he manages to beat it to death with his electro spanner.
The others come to a gorge, which they cross using a tree which Sextoi felled with accurate shooting from her Phaser . Spunk falls in 3 times, luckily restrained bu vine ropes that they had prepared. Not very Vulcan......
The discover that the artifact is hidden in a native village, which is surrounded by a stockade. as they ponder how to get it out without breaking the Prime Directive, a Romulan beams down with a case of disuptors , apparently planning to hand them out to the feathered natives.
The gang stun him, and a native guard, recover the disruptors, and then decide to report this to the ship. Oops. Who forgot to bring the communicators?

It's Ah'WhoorAh and don't you forget it child!
Strong independent black woman with a whole lot of attitude.
Theeeee best communications specialist in Star Fleet might I add. I currently can speak: English, Swahili, and Rommulan, but I'm expanding my linguistic horizons... Not to mention my ex-quis-ITE! dancing skills.

I'm proud to say that a lot of the EXPs I awarded for the Pilot Episode were for role playing! I understand that both Ah'Whoorah and Sextoi will be turning up in uniform next week.

Spunk returns to the shuttle, after some grief on the tree trunk bridge. Meanwhile Dong , Ah'Whoorah and Sextoi truss up the Romulan, and hide the Birdman in the bushes. Dong then snurgles into the sleeping village and steals a skull from the altar- it being the only candidate for the artifact. Spunk and Vakov contact the Philadelphia and report the Romulan incursion Spunk manages to fly the shuttle to the far side of the bridge, and pick up the rest. Back to the Ship for congratulations from Captain Pike.
Next training mission is to recover a target artefact from the asteroid belt, which they manage almost effortlessly.
having graduated from the training cruise, they are handed their Cadet cruise- the Corvette USS Polyphemus, basically the smallest ship in Starfleet. They are sent to take urgent medical help to Rigel 42 where a strange plague is affecting the mining colony. En route they encounter a warp storm which drains the dilithium crystals. Luckily Starbase 7 reports that there is an abandoned Dilithium mine not far away. Spunk and Vakov manage to break the scanner, so they have to use the one on the shuttle. Ah'Whoorah and Spunk beam down and enter the mine- they find a pile of mysterious silver balls, which the Comms officer has to be restrained from Phasering. They encounter the old swinging bridge, however halfway accross the remember that the EVA suits have jetpacks...... Recovering a crystal , they return , only to find their route blocked by a strange ruglike entity, which has an obvious scar ........
