Hey everyone,
I have finished the stuff for our game on Sunday. Please bring along your squads as well as any extra figures that can be used.
we will start with a little board game (hopefully around 20 mins) to represent the larger strategic fight for Scotland before we dive into a specific war-game.
See you all there!

Sounds good, I'm playing a game of Bolt Action on Sunday, so can't commit to a game for this campaign.

Our civil war opens in 1938. With the fighting in England over the one true king, Scotland has fractured as our teams and factions fight for their future. Our game today opened with a board game section to represent the strategic overview as public support waxed and waned for our teams. The Presbyterian League and The Albertine Cricket Club both found initial support in The Borders (red) while both The Jacobites and Isle Scots found footing in The Highlands and Islands (blue). The Fascists of Scotland First and Forever had spotted support all over Scotland with a strong base in Edinburgh. After fighting amongst themselves, the dust settled with The Presbyterian League the clear front runner. Securing unwavering and complete support from The Central Belt, they tussled with The Albertine Cricket Club over England and The Borders. The Isle Scots took straight towards The Jacobites and thrashed them off the board. Making an alliance with the growing Presbyterian League, they made way to securing The Highlands and Islands. Fascist support saw a resurgence in The Borders before being completely wiped out of Presbyterian lands. Migrating north, they have found a significant bastion of support in Aberdeenshire and the north-east. With The Presbyterian League chipping away at support in Edinburgh, it wont be long before it, too, falls. The Current State (see map)The board game section finished with The Presbyterian League (grey) holding complete control over the bottom two thirds of the map. The Isle Scots (red) has found tenuous control over two thirds of the The Highlands and Islands and is currently hunting down the last Jacobite (orange) support in the north west. The Albertine Cricket Club (yellow), having settled their differences with The Presbyterian League and joined The Alliance Against Fascism( and Jacobites), they have taken up the guerrilla cause and fight to defend their little supporters stuck under unrelenting Fascist (black) strength in the north east. On the map, the colours with numbers represent the level of support. The stars are the current location of the factions leader. The WargameAfter all of this violence and shenanigans, Rory McTory of the Scotland First and Forever (Fascists) invited the leaders of the warring factions to a peace negotiation in Fife. The Meadowside Hotel was to be the place. Unsurprisingly it was a trap. The imprisoned leaders had to be rescued by their forces before the Fascists could transport them off table (to their doom!). The AAF(aF) took this job sportingly and didn't intentionally fire upon each other bar one accident in a pub. The Jacobites were not so lucky and were wiped clean off the table. The game ended with a solid win for the AAF(aJ) and the game taking the adventure north. Next week will likely see our teams fighting in The Highlands and Islands to try and dislodge the entrenched Fascist position. Will the AAF(aJ) hold together? Or break under pressure? Will The Jacobites spited by defeat, ally with the SFaF? Who knows! I haven't wrote the next part yet... Thanks to all who played Attachments:

A long overdue re-cap of Week 2. The civil war continued raging on through summer and into autumn of the year 1938. The Fascists (Scotland First and Forever) began to sprout fringe groups all across Scotland while the AAF(aJ) had to contend with a fight on all fronts. The Presbyterian League saw the largest loss of control with the complete removal of their iron grip on the central belt and borders. Now with Fascists pouring out in mass numbers all across the UK, the league had to lend support to the Anglicans of England who sought their aid. Despite the largest push yet made by any one force, the fascists were unable to break the solid line of grey which kept the Scottish Fascists firmly in Scotland. The Albertine Cricket Club (and adjacent Post Office) started Week 2 in dire straits. Switching from conventional warfare to favour guerrilla tactics, they were able to appear around the map when needed most and fought hard to keep the highlands and islands low with Fascists. The gains and victories they won gave them enough clout to formally declare a HQ of sorts for the AAF(aJ). The humble Argyll and Bute now lays claim to the official cricket grounds. The Jacobites saw a twist in fates. Been pushed to near extinction by The Isle Scots, these plucky landowner associates and staff made secret dealings with the Fascists for support and equipment. This proved invaluable as the Jacobites now spread support across most of Scotland, spreading further than any one member of the AAF(aJ). Lastly, The Isle Scots fought hard to maintain their stronghold of the Highlands and Islands. However, despite their large numbers and efforts, the wheeling and dealings of The Jacobites produced an enemy presence large enough to scare away any further support for The Isle Scots, losing them out on extra forces. See Map: Fascists (Black) Presbyterian League (Grey) The Albertine Cricket Club and Adjacent Post Office (Yellow) The Jacobites (Orange) The Isle Scots (Red) For those interested, we used a modified version of Pandemic: The Board Game to run the campaign map. The Wargame This week saw the Fascists looking to gain equipment supplies and support from England. Unable to march through land due to the successful Presbyterian Wall of Grey, they had to opt to arrive by sea. The guerrilla informants of The Albertine Cricket Club captured the secret messages from the Fascists to their new ally The Jacobites, giving away the landing spot. With all things set the wargame began. Scotland First and Forever (Fascists) arrived with equipment by sea, unloading tanks and vehicles along with troops and supplies at the docks. The Jacobites were given armoured cars and along with a forward vanguard, told to clear the path to the other board edge. The AAF(aJ) however, were lying in wait. Their forces dispersed in secret at certain ambush markers along the trail. The goal was for the AAF(aJ) to steal or destroy as much as they could and escape, while the Fascists and Jacobites tried to safely escort their forces off the opposite table edge. While a strong and overwhelming start by the Fascists and Jacobites, the eventual arrival of the AAF(aJ) turned things in their favour. Attachments:AVBCW Week 2 Map.pdf (126.79 KB)

I might go ahead with an interlude few games while you are away Don, representing winter skirmishes and supply shenanigans. Your forces can be assumed holding the line in England somewhere showing them how it's done.

Hey guys, all things permitting I should be free for the next bunch of Sundays.
Do we want to continue with AVBCW or are folks looking to move onto something else? Unfortunately we've had quite a big break off so I don't mind if folks have moved on but otherwise I'm happy to continue. The next stage is small skirmish games set in late autumn/early winter capturing supplies and destroying important strategic points as full scale operations begin to quieten down until the following season. Let me know your thoughts.
Anyone is welcome to join on if they haven't been involved yet. I am always looking for someone to represent the Fascists and Communists to allow me to focus on refereeing.
