I have a new set of colonial rules called Up the Nile. I'll bring them on Sunday

I understand it's AK47 next week?
For campaign thought purposes: do people want to have money/resources generated by territory and the like to buy units/equipment - or - do they want armies to be set and the lands owned to provide small benefits? Just so I know when working this out.

My preference would be the first option with territory and resources, but I understand that can sometimes be a bit more time consuming. I'm happy to go with the majority opinion.

What about the ladder system in the original rules?

Would need to have a look at it, but something like that could work.
I assume Don will be a Colonialist, are there any other preferences?

Yes- I will be one of the 2 "Settler" lists- not sure which one yet. I have a set of the new rules. I'll see Cameron on Wednesday, and see if he is up for participating. He has figures and vehicles. I suspect I have enough to do 2 armies- I was basing at the weekend , and found that I had a lot more figures than I thought! We ought to manage 2 simultaneous games, maybe 3..... I have command groups for the religious movement- usually Ken, and the dictator- usually Von Widdler....
The advantage of the ladder is that it does not need a map- we all start on th4e bottom rung with 500pts? If you win, you go up a rung. If you lose, you descend(but not from the bottom rung!). You can only challenge people on the same rung,or a player above you. first to rung 5 wins? If I remember correctly........
Incidentally, Alan, I found my 15mm White Russians, which you are welcome to have

But maps are fun! I know they never work out because of bogging down though. But maps! I have South African, Cuban/Angolan, Portuguese, Generic, UN and Simba armies so I think between me and Don we can do any combination of types.

It is the problem with AK47 - you can always buy more things for it... and we need flags!
I'll start work on a map. How many players are we going to have?

I'll be playing too. I'll have to look at the various factions again.
