Probably typical Russians using the wrong calendar. Prussia will be there.

Well, that was a bit of an eye opener. 14 battalions of Prussians, 5 British, 3 Brunswick, 2 Spanish, 1 Portuguese and 1 Nassau, plus light companies, supported by 8 regiments of Prussian cavalry and 3 British, versus 8 French, 5 Danish, 3 Neapolitan and 3 Westphalians, with 4 regiments of Cuirassiers and 5 light cavalry/dragoons. And that's not all of the stuff we have available.. Although the allies had a numerical advantage, quality was more variable- a significant chunk of the Prussian army is Landwehr, and then there is the Spanish...... Notable points. 1. the table was too small at 12 by 6.... 2. The French cavalry could make little impression on the front of the Prussians, despite the quality/weight advantage. 3. Artillery had very little effect on the game- and there were plenty of guns. 4. The Brunswick Lieb Battalion's heroic defence of the stables, and the Dane's persistence in trying to eject them. 5. The Amazing speed of the British Light Brigade- and the firepower of a full battalion of rifles 6. The amazing lack of speed of Uxbridge's cavalry brigade, who barely made it halfway across the table. Not as far, in fact, as the unreliable Spanish infantry.....

We either have to not use all our figures (which is hard to do) or try and do more scenario based games.
It does look good having all the figures on though ...

I'll try and post some photos. For all that we overdid the figures, it was still a good game.

1. Uxbridge dawdles - 1st KGL Dragoons, 14th Light Dragoons, 1st KGL Hussars. The Light brigade in the distance skirmish with the French Left. 2. Wellington orders Picton forward with the 42nd, 3/1st and 28th Eniskillen. Westphalian troops under fire in the distance from a battalion of the 95th 3. Alan's vast array of Prussians. Brian's cuirassiers bravely try to hold them up. Firefight in the centre between Swiss and Prussian Grenadiers. The village beyond was hotly contested by Brunswickers and Danes.
