Hey guys, thanks to everyone who made it today, I think that turned out to be one interesting game. On the Confederate side we had: (Unfortunately I messed up Brian and Don when making my re-cap map, Brian was the 2nd Corps and Don was the 3rd Corps. I'll leave the mistake here so it matches the maps) 1st Corps - John (Longstreet) 3rd Corps - Brian (Ewell) 2nd Corps - Don (Hill) Cav Corps - Don (Unfortunately Don had to double up, giving the Confederates an advantage) On the Union side we had: II Corps - Alex (Hancock) V Corps - Adam (Meade/Warren) VI Corps - Danny (Sedgwick) IX - Callum (Burnside) The Union entered from the north and the Confederates from the west. The objective was to damage each others forces and then the Union were to attempt a withdrawal south past Spotsylvania Court House. Teams were unaware who would enter where and on what turn. May 4th - First Half Confederates arrived on the table first with Brian and Don. Brian started further north but both made their way to the wilderness tavern. Union forces entered a few turns later with Danny and Adam cutting of Brian and starting a long two day offensive while Alex snuck east towards Salem Church, leaving Don unawares at Parker's Store. May 4th - Second Half Danny and Adam continued to smash hard into Brian forcing him to hold the line along a side road. Meanwhile Don stayed put at Parker's Store. The cavalry Corps of the Confederates stumbled into Alex at Salems Church where the two exchanged skirmish fire. Attachments:

May 5th - First Half With a new day came new reinforcements. Callum arrive for the Union as Burnside from the north, while John as Longstreet arrived west but further south than his fellow rebels. Brian failed to gain initiative to allow a night time escape causing him to form a hasty defensive line right at the board edge to attempt to survive a whole day of Union attacks. Alex made his way west to re-join his team and was pursued by the Confederate Cavalry Corps. Don made his way south to form a defensive deployment at Todd's Tavern where he stayed for the day. John marched east towards Spotsylvania Court House under orders from his team. This will cause him a significant delay putting his forces out of the fight for the remainder of the game. May 5th - Second Half Brian miraculously found some luck and survived a successive wave of Union assaults, although his men's morale was at breaking point. Alex turned around and decided to face off against the Cavalry Corps at Parker's Store. He was soon joined by Callum who together formed an aggressive push towards the Cavalry Corps. Attachments:

May 6th - First Half Another night passed but this time Brian was able to escape, his forces completely battered but otherwise together. He retreated to Shady Grove Church where he held out the rest of the game. Danny held at first at Locust Grove waiting for a counter attack by Brian that never came. Alex and Callum, joined by Adam, pushed east and south to attempt to push past Don. Don started to withdraw his Cavalry Corps replacing it with his fresh 3rd Corps. May 6th - Second Half Brian stayed at Shady Grove Church stopping any Union advance west. Don held firm against Alex who cornered him against the board edge. Don's cavalry Corps withdrew south to make their way to Alsop, likely to spy any Union advances east. Adam and Callum left Alex and tried to push east. Adam was lucky enough to move one turn ahead of John and reached Piney Branch Church first. John skirmished with him at this location but could not stop Adam from advancing further south in the next day. Danny followed in his teams footsteps and began the push east. Attachments:

Conclusions
It was declared a Confederate Victory for now, but with an appetite to resume the campaign for a second Sunday in the future. The Confederate forces, while sacrificing the fighting power of Brian, did hold back their forces with the Union applying too much force in one area holding up their advance. By the end of May 6th, enough progress by the Union forces was made to justify continuing the campaign. However with John still intact and only two days left to march, the Union are in a tight push to the finish line.
Overall, Adam and Brian suffered heavy casualties, with Danny and Don's Cavalry Corps suffering medium casualties. The remaining Corps were either untouched or superficial damage.
Thanks again all! Hopefully we can try again.
