Hi all, hope this finds you all well.
I'm in the midst of organising a campaign based on the famous Tony Bath Hyborean campaign. Its in the early stages just now. I'm currently creating a Hex map and coming up with relevant mechanics. I plan to umpire the campaign and not participate. This is intended to be a long term campaign that can be returned to at any time, I will keep meticulous records of events and player progress. The intention is that players create and expand (or lose) growing empires over a long period of time. There will also be roleplaying elements involved.
What I would like from you all just now is an expression of interest and if anyone with ancient, dark age, even early medieval armies (or any other relevant armies) in 28mm, if you could list them on this thread and I can then create a spreadsheet with the relevant armies and what Hyborean factions they will be representing.
The map I am making will encompass all of the Howard Hyborean map, from Khitai in the east to the Pictish Wilderness in the west, Vanaheim in the north to the 'Black Kingdoms' in the south.
What are your thoughts?
D.

I'm game!
The only large enough force I have would be a Norman force, without it being LOTR stuff! I have few warband sized forces for saga/SPQR which can work if you run skirmish games as well.

Thanks guys, the map is progressing well, so will post that soon. Funny you should mention that Anton, I was considering some skirmish elements that would involve saga. In terms of rules I am flexible. Depending on what players in a particular battle want to use, they can decide that, and if there is no consensus, I'll do a coin toss. What I will say is, if I am involving some form of points/resource mechanic for composing armies, that will be uniform and most likely based on Hail Caesar point costs, although I haven't made that decision yet.
Also going to involve family trees!
Also, this will be happening when we are back to the club.

Sounds interesting. I hope there will be random events happening - plagues, scandals, especially good or bad harvests etc!

Good stuff, There will be random events and there will also be NPC factions run by myself. Think roaming nomadic hordes, rebellious settlements etc...

I forgot to mention - I have Persian, Greek and Ancient British forces.
Question - why am I still a 'new member' on this site? I've been here since it was set up!
