I bought the rules when they were on sale recently- they look to be fun, and quite intuitive. The order dice mechanism is very similar to Bolt Action (not identical though). Shooting, combat and magic are a bit different- they use D10s. I've ordered some Hobbit Shirriffs..... I'll probably do Elves as well- the warbands are quite small. "Historical" armies can be used as well- Knights- Normans or Italian Wars, Barbarians- Ancient Brits etc

Just to add to this thread, I also got the rules while on sale.
I created an Olympian army (complete with Zeus and Athena) as well as a Greek undead army with Hades, Persephone, Cerberus and a bunch of hoplite skeletons.
Though I haven't played a game yet to try it all out.

My Lizardmen should be up to full strength (1500 points, 13 dice) soon. Perhaps its time to start thinking about scheduling games.

So that's what we did... 1200 is points of Lirardmen, vs the same of Hobbits By turn 4, the Lizards had lost their leader, their wizard, their champion, axemen, javelinmen and lizard swarm, plus the lizard guard and another unit down to 1 figure. Hobbits lost a 5 figure sling unit

That's what happens when your opponents get 60 dice at your unit before it gets to attack!

Don't exaggerate Ken. None of my units fired 60 dice. None of them rolled more than 24.... Also, you lost all of the hand to hand combats. Mystic Meg, the fortune teller killed your leader. Also you tried to hide from the sling fire in a wood containing Ents. I'm not sure why you think that my Hobbits should turn up equipped to fight hand to hand, which they are crap at! I did bring the militia, and you attacked them. And lost there as well.......

Over the time it took my troops to cross the table, plus the exchange of missiles, I'm sure they took 60 dice before they got to attack. I admit I had no idea what your army or mine was capable of at the start - that was the point of fighting the battle!

Pretty much. I was caught unprepared. With a few tweaks, I think my army could have done better - for example, I could have kept my wizard back and taken Shield spells to protect against missile fire. I'll be interested to watch the next Warlords of Erehwon battle - who's fighting who next?
