What scale do you fancy Alan? Happy to go high or low. I bow to your superior trader knowledge for suitable figures.
Also flexible on the rules we use. I've been a fan of the period for a while so have no fuss over what system.
I decided upon the 18th century grouping in the forum, as most of it is spent in that half. Only seemed fair.

I know the basics of the period, need to find a good book for it. I am just always drawn to the odd things ... as may have been noticed. Although 10/15mm is my normal preference for things - 28mm is probably the way to go. The clashes are pretty small, and that way you get the colour of the period. Trent Miniatures (now with Skytrex) seem to be the only specific figures for the period, although a few African native types could work for slave irregular troops. British and French are available from a few places. skytrex.com/collections/wars-in-the-caribbeanThere is a good blog here for with someone who has been doing the period if you go through it: dusttears.blogspot.com/search/label/Haitian%20Revolution(Trent Miniatures also do the Irish Rebellion but we'll leave that for another time)

I had a look at trent stuff too and will be getting mine soon for the slaves. I need to figure out when the slaves started using more formal (if very ragged) uniforms and formed up more.
I'll probably get a selection of farm equipment slaves for the main army and maybe 3x8s of the more regular types and take it from there.

I'll order some French shortly! Start with the line infantry and then on to the odd things!

Arrived on my desk are 20 revolting slaves, 16 revolting slaves with firearms, 8 Maroons, 4 command figures
Enough to make a sensible army of 2 x 8 Militia firearms 2 x 12 Slave Wallahs 1 x 6 Maroon skirmishers A leader for each set
I'll get them painted so we can try it out. I'll likely get some of the uniformed slaves to make some more normal firearm infantry, once I figure out more about the period.

I bought it so happy to pass along any good details. For Haiti, it only has three lists for the slaves (early, mid, late) which is great for me but mentions nothing for the European powers. It does answer some of my uniform queries which is handy. I imagine the regular Napoleonic lists will work for you all.

The British and French will just be the standard Napoleonic lists. When completed I'll have 2 groups of 8 line, and 2 6 figure skirmish units, plus officers etc. At least to start with....

I've just ordered 3 packs of Royal Navy Landing Party from Perry Miniatures. Anybody know where I can find details on the officers' uniforms? The few sites I've turned up are great on the differences between a rear-admiral's and a vice-admiral's full dress uniforms, but have no info on the working uniforms that officers leading a boarding party might wear.
