Zhao Zilong would you like to have a go at doing something based on Battle of Beiping–Tianjin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Beiping%E2%80%93Tianjin) ? Looks like we could get some interesting units on the tabletop under command of Ma Bufang: " Ethnic Turkic Salar Muslims made up the majority of the first cavalry division which was sent by Ma Bufang." There also appear to be quite a few Japanese cavalry regiments in the order of battle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_battle_at_Beiping%E2%80%93Tianjin) although I have no minis for these and at the moment no idea who if anyone makes them, might be an interesting kit bash with Perry ACW Cavalry. Also seems to be quite a few different incidents and battlefield terrain types so could potentially be setting for a campaign of a number of games. Could be a nice cross over with the other Bolt Action early war campaign getting organised. Mainly exited because I can use the SS-KI engineering vehicle/flame tank, 4 appear to have been used in the battles, although the tank appears available to any Japanese army list from Invasion of Manchuria to Battle of Okinawa.

I'm up for that, it is an interesting campaign. Everyone needs cavalry for their WW2 armies, it should be mandatory.
I do have some Chinese cavalry to paint ... I may have to try that one.

Sadly, no horse mounted British Cavalry were used in action in WW2. The 1st Cavalry Division was stationed in Palestine, but went into action in tanks as the 10th Armoured Division. The TransJordan Frontier Force had mounted squadrons which may have seen action in 1941 in Iraq? That would make an interesting campaign- it was by no means one sided, at least at first. I have Warlord troops which would work for China.

There was some mounted Cheshire Yeomanry in Syria in 1941, they were mechanised at the end of the campaign, Perry has figures for them ... www.perry-miniatures.com/product/ww38-yeomanry-cavalry-patrolling/Iraq and Syria are both interesting little campaigns, the British are scratching together units and with better opposition leadership they could have come unstuck in places.

Hey Alan and Dave, I was thought we were going to do Bolt Action Manchuria this weekend but doing it on Sunday 5th suits me much better. I will have a 1000pt Japanese force painted up by then so Dave if you want to bring 1000pt army to we could face off against 2000pt Chinese army. Thinking that we use Reinforced platoon selectors as it gives the armies more flexibility as to what we can put in them and fight a later war version of the Marco Polo Bridge scenario. I can add the details of the battle here if you fancy

Sounds good, but I would really be struggling to get to 2000 points, even with German Trained Veteran Chinese I only end up at around 1300 points

dandare did you have any Warlord Chinese that Alan could add to his force? Alan you could also have my Ha Go as I think you can field a captured version of it. That might help to bring the points up. Maybe we go for 1500 points and Dave and me can split our forces into 750 each? If not happy to do 2xJapanese forces vs 1 large Chinese one.
