Today we fought a Sicily 1943 battle- British Airborne Vs German Panzer Grenadiers- 1250 points The scenario was "Heartbreak Ridge" from Bolt Action Alliance. A number of innovations appeared, mainly on the British side. The Paras had an Intelligence Officer- that allowed the captured Pak 40 to get in the first shot vs the Stug. And bounce off.... The Paras were also sporting some other captured stuff- MG34s . The result was a British win, as they held all the objectives, and reduced the Germans to half dice. The MVP was the 2" mortar which wiped out a German squad with 2 shots. The PIAT team did well also

Davy and I were discussing yesterday reviving the idea of a Bolt Action competition. The idea would be to have everyone play each other once, over the course of a year. Probably 750 or 100pt armies. The theme would be a particular year of the war- we had thought of 1939- although this excludes our American cousins, but we have plenty of other armies. Nothing to stop there being more than one player of each nationality. Other years are open to suggestion! I'd suggest that we all play the same scenario- the one Dave and I played yesterday is a good and balanced one. Maybe changing it at set intervals? I'm happy to donate a prize for the first year- maybe a painted generic truck? We could also charge a modest entry fee which could go towards the possible insurance premium.... Please contribute your thoughts.

I'm happy to join the competition. I'll probably use early Soviets Trans Balkail army list.

Count me in with Japanese, Dave I might have to borrow a squad or two off you if that's OK? Think I can use my Chi Ha tank, Wiki has the "production" dates as 1938-45

Sounds Good. I would use the Yanks if later period but if early then happy to give the Germans a try, though would need to borrow troops from someone.

You can borrow my japs Tom. I believe Don has a model for the earlier tank, believe its the Type 94.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe Alan has a Type 89 Yi-go, which is also in the list.
Tom, I think it would be the 1937 Kwantung Army list you would use. Because this is based around the army that took Manchuria and Northern China in 1937, it doesn't have the Chi Ha in it.

I have a Type 95 Ha Go,and as Dave says, Alan has the Type 89. After discussion, we think 1000pts should work better. So Far we have 2 Germans, 1 Jap, 1 Brit, 1 Pole and 1 Soviet. Anton is keen to join in as well. Ken? I have some French....
