So has Anton, but that is not a problem, as we can use Winter Germans for one of the sides.

Kos 1943 Cam uncovered a couple of articles from an old Wargames Illustrated which were about a what if campaign in the Dodecanese in 1943. They designed for Rapid Fire, and included a description of a battle for Kos as. We though this might make a good refight as a standalone, guessing that there is probably no appetite for a protracted naval campaign. To make it manageable as multiplayer game, we concluded that we could run this over the summer a 2 or 3 standalone games, given the difference in ground scales between RF and Bolt Action. Cam has produced a map, and I have done briefings and army lists for both sides- the 2 of us will umpire. We probably need 4 volunteers- 2 Axis and 2 Allied, although we can accommodate more with ease. Will bring the paperwork on Sunday for a chat.

The timetable is flexible, I will bring Briefings on Sunday. The main commanders have a bit of planning to do pre game. Cam has printed out copious maps which can be marked up, which he will bring on Sunday as well.

First briefings handed out today- Alan and Brian, with Ken's help will be the Allied commanders. That leaves Alex and Tom as the Germans and Italians.

Alex and Tom confirmed as Axis commanders, and Dave has taken on the role of "Smiling Albert" Kesselring controlling things from afar in Rome (Peterhead)

Just waiting for the Axis deployments and we are good to go. Maybe play on the 31st, if that suits?

Notes for Kos: Please turn up early- lots of action The island is divided into 4 boards, each 6*4. This is mainly to limit the number of dice in the bag. I only have one dice bag, so if someone could bring a second one, that would help! Shooting between boards, and movement, is allowed

Well, that seemed to work quite well ! Thanks to all, and welcome to George! Next week, the Battle for Antimachia Airfield At the end of today's game , British Paras had managed to take the airfield, but an Axis counterattack was developing from Kardamena. The British Were still held up in front of Katos, but the Italian Grip on the town was slipping. Allied armour has taken a bit of a beating, only one Valentine remaining, while the Italians have only lost a semovente. The arrival of Fallshirmjager reinforcements from Rhodes could well swing the game. Next Sunday is a slightly more conventional game, which will be played on tables 1 and 4. Forces as today but minus losses
