I've now finished half of the figures- but plenty for Sunday anyway. 2 trial games- Wednesday, we got a lot of the rules wrong, and the SAS were beaten. I did a solo run through tonight of scenario 1 tonight (bear in mind that the defenders generally operate randomly) , and the SAS killed the lot. Use of cover is vital, as is using the medal effect " freeze" to lose alert (*spotted) tokens.... SAS are well equipped- combat knives as well as grenades, as well as small arms. Attacking from behind, oddly enough is horrendously effective. Ken's tactic from Wednesday of running up and spraying a Tommy gun is less good......

I'd also like to introduce the German Officer, Kurst von Naeluck, who has managed to be the first person shot in 2 consecutive games.....

3 in a row for Von Naeluck... At least he wasn't first man down this time. lessons learned- 1. reduce the table size to 3 by 3 2. the De Lisle silent carbine is deadly 3. Feldwebel Klott is destined for the Russian Front- although he will probably get lost on the way.
Next week is demolition.

I checked the 'grey for now' website - there's an optional rule called 'Get Into The Fight' that would have been useful on Sunday. If troops are wandering about at the edge of the board, they can make a Guts check to advance 20" towards the centre of the board.

Bearing in mind that the sentries have a guts of 1...... And it only works if there are no enemy within 20". They don't move 20", they can do an advance towards the centre of the table.
